Soldiers say they have ousted Gabon’s president as Nigeria celebrates 3 months of presidential inauguration

The coup attempt came hours after President Ali Bongo Ondimba was declared the winner of an election. Crowds have celebrated in Gabon after mutinous soldiers said they are seizing power in order to overturn the results of a presidential election, removing a president whose family have no respect for Constitution. The coup attempt came just hours after the central African country’s President Ali Bongo Ondimba, 64, was declared the winner of a general election. Later, a dozen uniformed soldiers appeared on state television and announced that they had seized power. Crowds in the city took to the city’s streets to celebrate the end of Mr Bongo’s reign, singing the national anthem with soldiers.
